Explore welding in a fun way working with various sizes of round bar, sheet metal, wire and creating your own permanent metal sculpture art or functional pieces.
3 Saturdays in March, 4 lucky maker apprentices will get 2+ hours of hands on welding experience under the guidance of 1 of the master makers of Richmond.
What is provided:
– Complete protective gear for each student
– Mig welding set-ups

Hands on practice
Designing your sculpture
Forming bending and preparing your materials for welding
Session 3 (3/18/17)
Laying out your project
Welding and finishing project until project is complete
What you should bring:
– Ideas for what you want to make!
– Serious attitude for safety precautions required… remember these are extremely dangerous tools for fabrication — not toys (at least not until you get really good with them!)

About the Teacher:
Ruben has 30 years manufacturing experience and has a full metal and wood fabrication shop. In true maker fashion, Ruben enjoys making tools that make his work easier, creating art out of a vary of materials, to doing custom work for other makers and small businesses.
