The Richmond Chess Initiative is hosting Thursday night chess workshops! RCI specializes in tournament chess instruction, professional development, and entrepreneurial training.
This chess group will provide chess programming for all ages.
Come hang out for a world class meeting of the minds.
6:30 PM – 7 PM – Lesson
7 PM – 8 PM – Free Play
8 PM – 8:30 PM – Lesson
8:30 PM – 10 PM – Free Play
Every day in every major city in the world someone is walking, skateboarding, cycling, scooting, driving, catching a bus, or a train to go play chess! Richmond has joined those cities!
About the Teacher:
The teacher of this workshop is Mike Callahan who has a 30 year international chest history. The chess programs he provides meet international standards, and are provided across many local Elementary, Middle and High Schools. Mike is also a Writer and collumnist for the Virginia Scholastic Chess Association “Its your move” and the Virginia Chess Federation “Pick & Play”

RCI’s ongoing mission is to increase the number of scholarships, employment opportunities and entrepreneurial opportunities available to chess players of all ages in the City of Richmond. We sponsor, “Total Chess Personality” training. Our mission is to lead, mentor, and compensate players for becoming certified coaches, certified referees, and organizers.
