Hydroponics Workshop
Sat. May 21st @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 PM
| free to attend, $10 recommended donation to build your own hydroponics system to take home (which will grow 4 – 6 heads of lettuce)
This workshop will introduce you to the core principals of hydroponics.
We will handle several working hydroponic systems types:
– Aeroponics
– Ebb & flow
– Deep water culture
– Kratky method
And share experience about topics such as nutrients, aeration, indoor versus out door growing
We will provide:
– Materials to build a hydroponic system
– Starter seedlings
– Net pots
– Nutrients
– seeds and starter plugs for a second harvest
By the end of the class, you will have built and designed your own hydroponic system to take home that will grow fresh leafy greens for you and your friends and family!

About the teachers:
Orland Foster is a seasoned gardener. Having filled the space in his yard with a traditional garden, he uses hydroponics to maximize vertical space . |

Arthur Kay founded Carverponics, managing hydroponic and aquaponic systems in Richmond Public School greenhouses. He is currently growing hydroponic strawberries at Armstrong High School for the Science Department.
